Do I need a Companies House personal code?
Yes. From 18 November 2025, all company directors and people with significant control (PSCs) must verify their identity with Companies House. You'll need a personal code to file your confirmation statement, be appointed as a director, or incorporate a new company.
You can verify yourself through GOV.UK One Login, but many people find the process frustrating. Common problems include biometric passport issues, email and login difficulties, or simply getting stuck in the system.
As a registered Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP), we can complete the identity verification on your behalf. We'll carry out the ID checks and you'll receive your personal code by email, no battling with government websites required.
Please note: You'll need to provide identity documents (such as a passport or driving licence) for us to complete verification. Your personal code is unique to you and can be used for all your company roles.
