banking

By law you must open a business bank account for your limited company and to do so must present your Certificate of Incorporation, passport or drivers licence and also recent utility bills.

Any director or company secretary will also have to provide this information and if anyone other than you is to sign for cheques you must take sample signatures. The bank will give you an account opening mandate.

Most banks offer free business advice and free banking for a set period. Some offer good rates of interest and a range of perks such as free legal advice and access to business advisors. Shop around and do not feel you have to keep your business and personal accounts with the same bank.
