Between January and March, there were 154 new companies registered in Stafford, representing a 6% rise on same period last year and beating all previous quarters on record for the area.
The rise in formations could be linked to a variety of regeneration works that are currently going on in the area. Recently completed projects are new council offices, a new leisure centre and a redeveloped college. Next in the pipeline is a £70 million, 18-unit retail development of over 190,000 sq ft to complement and strengthen the town centre economy and create new business and hundreds of new jobs in the town.
