Recent research from Duport.co.uk shows net company growth shot up during the first quarter of the year in Glasgow.
During the three months to March, net company growth (the number of formations minus the number of closures) stood at 730, compared to 636 during the first quarter of last year.
The rise in net company growth is due to a record number of company formations during the January to March period. There were 2192 companies formed during this time - more than any other quarter on record and a 17% increase on the previous year.
And in further good news, the Duport report also shows the UK company share of Glasgow rose during the first quarter.
