Figures in the latest Duport Business Confidence Report for Southsea have shown there was a peak in the number of female director appointments during the first quarter of the year.
The third quarter of the year saw a rise in net company growth in Bracknell, according new research by leading company formation agents, Duport.co.uk.
Recent research from Duport.co.uk has revealed there were a record number of new company formations in Rochdale during the third quarter of the year.
During the first half of 2012, Wrexham has seen the highest ever number of company formations in a half year. There were 260 companies formed during this period, beating any other half year on record for the town and comfortably exceeding figures for the same period last year.
Traditionally, Wrexham's economic base has been in the manufacturing industry. Despite a decline in this area over the last 20 years, around 25% of jobs in the area are still in manufacturing.
The decline in traditional manufacturing has made way for growth in high tech manufacturing, technology and services. Wrexham Industrial Estate is the UK's second-largest industrial park, and companies such as Sharp, Brother, Cytec Industries, Calypso, J. C. Bamford, Cadbury and Kellogg's have major manufacturing, research or office bases in and around the town.
