record number of new companies in Kingston Upon Thames

October 2012

May and June saw record numbers of new company formations in Kingston Upon Thames, according to Companies House data gathered in the latest Duport Business Confidence Report. In May, there were 88 new company registrations and in June there were 86, beating any May and June on record for the area.

Kingston is thriving town that has remained prosperous in the face of tough economic conditions. It has a healthy property market, excellent shopping centre and great transport links - all factors that have led to it being voted one of the top ten places to live in London.

The Duport report contains further good news for the area, with its UK company share rising from 0.1% to 0.2% during the first six months of the year.

"Kingston Upon Thames has escaped the worst effects of the recession. Our report does show a sharp dip in company registrations and a rise in company closures in 2009, but figures have been improving steadily since then," said Managing Director of Duport.co.uk, Peter Valaitis.

"Excellent local facilities and its proximity to the central London has made it a highly desirable place to live, and therefore it has become a highly desirable place to do business."

With statistics for the town suggesting a healthy economy and record numbers of new companies flocking to set up there, Kingston Upon Thames looks set for a prosperous future.
