Despite the current economic climate, over 70% of home-based business owners feel that they will be able to 'grow or maintain' their level of business during the downturn.

In the survey, conducted by insurer RSA, over 30% of respondents stated that their current level of business was 'positive', with nearly 40% finding it 'average or no different to normal’.

Only 8% of respondents felt that they would 'definitely not’ be able to maintain or increase their level of business.

When asked if they would start a business again, more than three quarters of those surveyed stated: 'definitely'.

These results are overwhelmingly positive, and represent the optimism of the small business community in the current economic climate.
