Strike action by the Communication Workers Union will continue with rolling strikes on Monday 8th October, with plans to stage them every Monday until their dispute with employers Royal Mail, has been resolved.
“The main impact that this strike is having on the majority of businesses is to drive them away from Royal Mail and into the arms of competitors and web based solutions.
“This strike is helping neither customers, staff, nor the strategic aims of the organisation. All it is likely to achieve is the continued demise of Royal Mail,” stated Natalie Evans, Head of Policy at the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC).
It is feared that post will take up to a week to reach its destination if the action is not called off, having a major impact on business – particularly small businesses who tend to rely on the Royal Mail to send invoices and receive payments.
