reclaiming the cost of surfing

back
june 2007

A new internet service is designed to help recoup the cost of employees spending time at work surfing the internet.

Clickworkplace.com will enable employers to earn money from their workers using their search engine and clicking the advertising links that it produces. The idea is for the company and the employer to each receive 50pc of the revenue.

Managing Director of clickworkplace.com, Lee Thomas stated that businesses had to accept that staff use the internet for personal use, and that this service could turn the wasted time into additional revenue.

Many companies restrict the internet usage of their employees by restricting the time spent online, or the sites that they are permitted to visit, but surfing whilst at work is still commonplace.

There are already similar sites to clickworkplace.com, such as everyclick, which donates 50% of its revenues to charity.
