Britain's business sector is increasingly adopting fixed-mobile convergence (FMC), research suggests.
According to the results of a study by Vanson Bourne, more than ten per cent of Britain's business sector is already utilising the technology and a further 54 per cent are already aware of it, reports bCentral.
The survey also found that over the course of 2007, a further seven per cent of firms will adopt the technology on the grounds of cost-effectiveness and the potential to enhance productivity.
"While it is still early days for this concept, our survey suggests FMC is very much on the business agenda," said Tom Hodgson, sales and marketing director at Martin Dawes systems, the firm which commissioned the survey.
FMC is a technology that allows a mobile telephone to connect to a fixed-line telephone network, particularly as many cellular telephone users opt for using the mobile device instead of a landline even at home, according to Commil.
