The use of email on mobile handsets could be increasing in popularity, new research suggests.
According to a study by a partner company of Visto, 70 per cent of 'professionals' may be utilising email functionality on their mobile handsets during 2007, reports bCentral.
The study found that nearly one in three respondents found mobile email to be attractive because of a desire to achieve a work-life balance.
"It is clear the benefits and advantages of mobility reach beyond the workplace," said Doug Brackbill, chief marketing officer for Visto.
In contrast, a survey commissioned in 2006 found that 60 per cent of respondents considered email delivery via mobile device was too elitist or expensive.
Established in 1996, Visto offers mobile email solutions with email clients such as Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino.
