The head of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) says that commercial activities in the UK are at their most dynamic since the 1940s.
Richard Lambert claims that now is the best time to become an entrepreneur since the turn of the century dotcom bubble and asserts that young business leaders are more adventurous than 20 years ago.
In addition, the director-general at the employers' organisation applauds the work done by the UK's universities in engaging with the business world in recent years.
The spokesman reveals: "I've come to the conclusion that the entrepreneurial culture is alive and flourishing here in the UK."
He adds that the current economic climate means that now "is an exciting time to be engaged in entrepreneurial activity".
The CBI representative notes that the commercial world is changing at a rapid pace due to alterations in established processes and industries.
However, he also claims that business tax guidelines are still too complex and charges are too high.
Mr Lambert joined the association in 2006 and was previously editor of the Financial Times for ten years.
