A data protection company has launched a new storage facility for small to medium-sized enterprises (SME).
The DeltaStor S2100-DS2 solution from US firm Sepaton aims to provide smaller companies with an affordable software system which enables the storage of data via compression and de-duplication, reports bCentral.
Distributed by Hammer in the UK, the data solution operates is a virtual tape library (VTL), which allows SMEs to ensure that vital data is maintained securely via an online facility.
"The S2100-DS2 is perfect for growing businesses that want to secure their data in an efficient, reliable disk-based solution," commented Mike Worhach, president and chief executive at Sepaton.
Among the other storage systems produced by the data protection services provider is the S2100-ES2 VTL, which the firm claims is able to work 12 times faster than a host-based disk-only facility.
The solution can also be integrated into mainframe systems without requiring alterations in storage infrastructure or established user processes.
As a result of the distribution deal secured this month, Hammer will sell a range of data protection units from Sepaton and collaborate with the US company on marketing activities.
