Rebel Roses flowers enhance any display

Gail Wetherall created Rebel Roses after working as a designer for show homes. She realised that so much money was wasted on fresh flowers and plants because they weren’t cared for and quickly faded.

At Rebel Roses, Gail makes and designs stunning displays of fragranced faux flowers. These flowers don’t fade, don’t die and don’t need constant care, making them perfect for show homes, exhibitions, restaurants, lobbies and even private homes.

Rebel Roses can provide gorgeous faux flower arrangements for sale or for hire, so their customers never need to spend more and get less by having to order fresh flowers time and time again.

What makes your business different?
Quality & value for money.  Because I select, design, fragrance and manufacture the arrangements personally, customers get the most highest quality arrangements available without paying for overheads which would normally need to be added with larger companies.

What inspired you to start this business?
Everyone loves fresh flowers but the expense and waste involved can make them an expensive luxury to buy every week.  I used to design show homes for the property investment market and realised that the flower and plant budget was being wasted as fresh flowers didn’t last and plants weren’t being watered.  Fabulous fragranced realistic arrangements are a simple solution to this home accessory problem.

How are you funding your business?
Self funded and have recently done a few successful events which have allowed me to continue to grow the business.

Where do you see your business in 3 years?
I hope to see Rebel Rose arrangements on the high street!

What characteristics do you have that will help you make your business a success?
My customers give me inspiration and drive because when you see someone genuinely loving what you have created, it’s a wonderful affirmation that you’ve got something right!

What are you most keen to learn that will help you grow your business?
How to keep costs down without compromising on quality!

The Rebel Roses Studio

Are there any brands, companies or personalities that you most admire or aspire to?
My father is my biggest aspiration – he’s never given up even in the worst economic climates and continued to grow his business- but he’s also a typical Yorkshireman and keeps his costs down!

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing your company?
Remaining competitive, keeping my costs down and finding more hours in the day.

Is being a business owner how you expected it to be, or have you had any surprises along the way?
It’s exactly how I expected – 24 hours a day…

What is your main goal for your company?
For Rebel Roses to become a recognised brand and for every customer to become a repeat customer.

Do you have any advice for people thinking of starting their own business?
Have faith, keep going and don’t compromise on quality – ever!
