small towns and villages enterprise initiative
Small businesses in Chirk town, Ceiriog Valley and Llangollen can apply for 50% of costs, to a maximum of £5,000.
This Scheme aims to support businesses within a single town or village, or a well defined rural area. The initiative incorporates a number of strands:
A locally-based Officer provides a contact point for all businesses and co-ordinates support from partner agencies. The Officer delivers a package of match-funded grant schemes to businesses, as an agent to the WDA. These grants include marketing, business competitiveness, access & communication and rural retailer support. The Officer promotes other schemes and initiatives from partner organisations such as property refurbishment grants, training support etc.
The initiative includes funding support for improvements to business environments.
The ongoing work is guided by an Action Plan developed by a forum of business representatives from within the community. This forum will drive the initiative forward and monitor progress.
