grant support for developing a website for your business
50% of costs, to a maximum of £500.

This grant is available to help businesses within Blaenau Gwent to promote their activities, products and services through a professionally designed website.

The scheme is targeted at businesses within Blaenau Gwent with 250 or fewer employees. The award of the grant is discretionary with its prime purpose to support the costs of employing an external, independent website consultancy and/or design agency to design a website. The amount of the grant will be based on the eligible cost of the project and will cover up to 50% of the eligible costs to a maximum of £500.

CORUS re-generation programme
Promoting information technology for businesses in Blaenau Gwent.

50% of costs. This scheme is designed to support the regions´ SMEs and its citizen’s through Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The scheme arises from urgent actions for Blaenau Gwent due to the closure of the Ebbw Vale Steel Works.

This support actions cover:
• Raising awareness through a series of events and seminars that makes clear the business benefits of ICT;
• Broadband Infrastructure - assisting the Blaenau Gwent Broadband Strategy, and under the Broadband Wales programme there is a Satellite Subsidy Scheme which offers businesses up to 50% (max £1500) towards the cost of satellite broadband services;
• Business Support - schemes available to SMEs in Blaenau Gwent who can demonstrate that they are growing or can identify growth potential. The schemes offer basic ICT advice and information, along with consultancy to companies for full integration to ICT into their business. Capital and Training Grants are available depending on the size of the company;
• Development of an e-community Pilot Project - in conjunction with Tredegar Development Trust this pilot complements the Communities First Programme initiated by the WAG and enables the community of Tredegar to enjoy the benefits of ICT.
The available support is:
• Business Support Capital grant £8,000 for SMEs employing more than 25 persons (I.e. 50% of £16,000 and a maximum of £3,000 for SMEs employing 1-24 persons (I.I. 50% of £6,000).
• Business Support Training Grant - made at 50% up to a maximum of £1,000.
• Broadband Subsidy Scheme - up to 50% (max £1500).

Grant support for developing business premises within commercial improvement areas for businesses situated in Blaenau Gwent. 50 % of costs, to a maximum £15,000.

Grant for businesses to develop their own website - 50 % of costs up to a maximum of £500.

The aim of the scheme is to assist small and medium sized businesses in the Blaenau Gwent area to adopt newly emerging internet technologies, and in particular to establish a presence with their own website. The scheme provides financial assistance to employ a consultant/IT contractor to design a web site and to establish systems within the business for the use of the website as a tool for marketing, communication and electronic commerce.

The grant is available to businesses located in Gwent. Ideally the project should demonstrate that job creation will result. The grant covers up to 50% of eligible costs and the maximum level of grant offered will be £500. Projects must not start before grant approval from the County Borough Council. An applicant may only receive one world wide web grant.
