business development grant
Grants for business development and to assist purchase of fixed assets available for businesses within Denbighshire - 25% of costs, to a maximum of £15,000.

The Business Development Grant provides financial assistance to businesses for the development or improvement of buildings, as well as the purchase of capital equipment.

The main objective of the grant is to benefit the local employment market, but also the provision of amenities and environmental improvements. Assessment will take into account employment levels, business space created and multiplier effects, as well as the extent of private sector investment, and the overall impact all this will have on the company’s future prospects.

The normal level of grant assistance is 25%. However the council has the discretion to vary the rate of assistance according to the employment of the project. The normal minimum level of eligible expenditure will be £4,000, and the normal maximum level of eligible expenditure £60,000, but this may be varied in certain circumstances according to the merits of the project.

Most manufacturing industries are eligible, and those service industries operating in broader markets, rather than offering a purely local service. However, the following sectors are ineligible.
• The whole of the retail sector;
• Professional services - banks and insurance companies;
• Leisure and sports facilities, parks, public libraries, museums, theatres.
