From: Ceredigion Business Connect - 50% of eligible costs, to a maximum of £700.
This grant will help those starting in self employment, where the purchase of some essential tools or machine is necessary before starting up. The business must be new, not the continuation of an existing or former business, and intended to create permanent full-time work for at least one person.
Business Connect administers and provides advice on this scheme on behalf of Ceredigion County Council.
The grant awarded will not exceed 50% of total eligible costs: £700 per job created to a maximum of £2,000. The business must be able to give evidence of sufficient funding for the non grant-aided costs. New businesses in the agriculture, forestry, transport or fishing industries are not eligible for this grant.

All businesses in the Ceredigion region can apply for 50% of eligible costs, to a maximum of £12,000.
This grant scheme aims to strengthen the local economy by stimulating private sector investment and creating new jobs. Applicants should provide at least “5% of the total project costs. Eligible costs are limited to items of fixed capital expenditure, installation costs and can sometimes include property acquisition.
Suitable projects are those that:
• Will contribute to the local economy;
• Create new jobs;
• Are not eligible for help from other grant schemes.
The following types of project can be considered:
• Leisure and recreation;
• Retail projects;
• Tourism related projects;
• Manufacturing projects;
• Craft manufacturing projects;
• Property development and improvement;
• Conversion of redundant buildings, as part of a project leading to job creation.
• Agriculture, forestry, transport or fishing projects will not be considered.
Business Connect Centres administer and provide advice on this scheme on behalf of Ceredigion County Council, however, Business Connect does not directly give grants and loans nor does it run schemes and initiatives.
