support towards the cost of business improvement
50% of costs to a maximum of £5,000 for retail outlets in rural areas.

The Welsh Development Agency offers a free advice service to rural retailers. The service involves an evaluation of the outlet resulting in a report identifying areas for improvement and advice on availability or otherwise of grant eligibility under the Small Towns and Villages Enterprise Initiative. Grant support is available towards the costs of improvement and developing the business.

This scheme includes business grants, business partnership grants, advice and guidance, and the establishment of business groups. This is a Welsh Development Agency Scheme, which is operated by Menter Mon on Anglesey. The maximum value of support is £5,000, and is available to businesses in all industry sectors (except agriculture) in specified areas across Anglesey.

new business investment grant from business connect anglesey
Grant to new businesses to help with start up capital investment. New businesses, with up to 250 employees, in Anglesey. 50% of costs, up to a maximum of £5,000.

This grant is available to new businesses (within 6 months of establishing), to help with capital investment of over £250 for equipment/machinery, office automation equipment or minor adaptations to business premises.

rural joint venture grant
Grants to promote business co-operation from Business partnerships on the Isle of Anglesey. 50% of costs up to a maximum of £5,000. Grants applicable to business partnerships within or between sectors in order to promote business co-operation for the group benefit. Types of co-operation may include
• Co-marketing initiatives;
• Town festivals;

Business development groups are eligible for this grant. Evidence of clear economic benefit will need to be presented in addition to a commitment from business partners to contribute time to the submitted project.

Business Connect Centres administer and provide advice on this scheme on behalf of Anglesey County Council.

project planning grants
To help secure larger scale funding - 50% of costs to a maximum grant of £10,00 to help businesses with the expenditure incurred in obtaining funding support from other external sources. The grant will help with costs in securing large scale financial packages, for example the Welsh National Assembly’s Regional Selective Assistance. The project should involve the creation of at least 10 full-time equivalent jobs, with the main objective being to assist companies to employ professional support in submitting high quality applications.

Business Connect Centres administer and provide advice on this scheme on behalf of Anglesey County Council.

The maximum rate of support is up to 50% of costs to a maximum of £10,000. Minimum eligible scheme is £1,000 in grant application costs. Most manufacturing and service sectors are eligible with the exception of agriculture and transport.
